Melbourne Flamenco firecrackers Malcura are fresh from the studio and will be celebrating the release of their new single, “Malcura”, with a huge single launch show on Saturday September 21 at the Spotted Mallard!
Honing their craft as buskers in Melbourne’s Bourke Street Mall, Malcura have captivated the Australian public with their distinctive sound, which fuses Flamenco instrumentation with Latin rhythms and a Rock’n’roll mentality. Malcura create music for the soul; it’s a feeling as much as it is a sound.
After spending the bulk of 2019 working on the follow-up to their Age Music Victoria Award nominated debut, Malcura are excited to be releasing the first taste of their forthcoming album, “Malcura II”.
The self-titled new single, “Malcura”, is described by the band as “a reflection of the Malcura sound, from where it started, to what it’s become”.
“Malcura” combines many of the musical ideas and tricks the trio have learned as street performers with their hallmark Heavy Flamenco style – and it’s sure to set off some conga lines with its release!
Joining Malcura for this unmissable Saturday night of live music at The Spotted Mallard will be the wonderful Melbourne songstress Abbey Rose and her balloon-tight band as well as Tulalah’s Jesse Glass, who’ll be delivering a stirring set of his beautiful and introspective solo works.
