Malcura – Live in Warburton
July 20, 2019

The River Folk Festival and BT Dubs Cafe are delighted to announce the return of 3 exceptionally talented musicians to Warburton – in the form of flamenco rock heavyweights MALCURA! After blowing crowds away at The River Folk Festival in March with their frenetic guitar playing and infectious rhythms, we are privileged to have Malcura back in Warburton for a headline show! Featuring a delicious tapas menu from BT Dubs Cafe, mulled wine to keep you warm, and a seriously awesome high-energy trio, this family-friendly event will be an enlivening and warming reprieve from the cold and dark of winter in the Valley. So if you’re a local (or even if you’re not!) don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to see such a class act as Malcura here in Warburton!

A delicious dinner menu will be available from 6pm, followed by exhilarating flamenco rock sets from Malcura!

Having performed at Festivals from St Kilda Festival, to Blue Mountains Music Festival, to Bendigo Blue and Roots Festival and Illawarra Folk Festival, and having shared stages with the likes of Tash Sultana, Rodrigo y Gabriela (Mexico), Missy Higgins, Harry Manx (Canada), The Pierce Brothers, Opal Ocean and Archie Roach, MALCURA are a “Heavy Flamenco” trio from Melbourne, Australia, formed in 2013. From their beginnings as buskers in Melbourne’s Bourke Street Mall, Malcura have emerged as one of Australia’s most unique and exhilarating acts. Their music is as intricate and unpredictable as it is romantic and uplifting, fusing Flamenco instrumentation with Latin rhythms and a Rock’n’roll mentality.

Malcura create music for the soul; it’s a feeling as much as it is a sound.
